Our teaching teams use an emerging Curriculum to follow children’s interests and ideas. Children’s interests are encouraged and future learning opportunities are presented in a way that sparks children’s sense of curiosity and wonder.
Long Daycare
There are significant learning milestones for children between birth and five years - many of them not obvious to the untrained eye. Our qualified Teachers and teams are trained to identify and encourage those natural instincts in your child at each stage of their learning journey - from birth to school and beyond.
Preparing your child for school through a recognised Kindergarten program can be an extremely positive stage in their educational and social development, before embarking on their life changing school years. Check if your local LEAD Childcare centre offers a Government Approved Kindergarten program, delivered by qualified Early Childhood Teachers.
Our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service provides before and after school care during school terms and vacation care on student free days and holidays. The OSHC programs provide a balanced variety of play and recreational activities to meet the needs and interests of children in a safe, supervised and secure environment.
Our LEAD Childcare Swimming Program is tailored to our families, we deliver a water safety and swimming program to all our children. We focus on trauma free lessons, so that our children feel comfortable and happy when they are in the pool. All our swim teachers are fully qualified with Austswim or Swim Australia, they hold their Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Qualifications.
"Learning and teaching should not stand on opposite banks and just watch the river flow by. Instead, they should embark together on a journey down the water. Though an active reciprocal exchange, teaching can strengthen learning how to learn."
The Kitchen Program
This program has been created to provide children with a positive food experience from the day they start care. As we strive to provide children with a home away from home experience, we help introduce the children to the importance of making healthier choices and creating nutritious meals whilst involving them in the planning, preparation and service of the daily menu.
Sustainability
LEAD Childcare is always looking for new and innovative ways to reduce their environmental footprint and develop a more sustainable future. Each Service contributes to our Sustainability program in their own unique way.
We are:
Reducing our general waste
Making the most of our Natural Environments and learning resources
Recycling and composting
Reducing water and electricity consumption
We believe that teaching children about sustainability allows them to develop an appreciation of the natural environment and its relationship to their world.

Learning Foundations & Age Grouping
We support children to gain confidence to explore their world and take safe risks. Children’s learning is recorded on our online “Learning community”, Storypark. Storypark allows families to be involved in their child’s learning journey which enhances and improves educational outcomes for children. Our educators and families become co-learners in the child’s development.
Children are grouped with others of similar ages, so they can play, learn and socialise in environments best suited to their own happiness and development. We provide opportunities for children to engage with peers of all ages as well as family grouping times throughout the day.

Swimming Program
Our lessons are 30 minutes and we are able to keep the children engaged with fun, skill-based swimming and water safety experiences. We offer 1:1 lessons for all children under the age of 3 years old, this encourages a strong development of confidence and comfort in the water. With lessons for children 3 years and over at a ratio of 1:3. Our lessons have a strong atmosphere where our children can learn from each other while learning from our caring teachers.
LEAD Childcare wants our families and their children to have the highest quality care and education while offering extra curriculum activities like swimming lessons. Swimming is such an important part of a child’s life and learning at a young age makes it fun. Our vision is to have an impact on our national drowning statistics as well as being water aware and how to be safe around all water environments.
We believe that swimming is a skill for life and once taught at an early age it is never forgotten. Swimming is not just swimming, it is also fitness, helps improve physical and mental health as well as emotional health. Being in the water gives you the feeling of being weightless and once under the water you feel free of everything.
Involving our children helps develop life long skills and experiences which help them flourish in the years ahead of them.
In every LEAD Childcare Service our children’s cook’s deliver a high quality food safety program that is inclusive and respectful of all cultures and dietary requirements by creating menus that reflect each centre’s individuality.
Our menus are based on Nutrition Australia Guidelines and Get Up & Grow. We provide home cooked meals that meet 50% of children’s daily nutritional needs. Children are involved in planting, growing, harvesting and preparing seasonal ingredients for the menu.
We provide morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack, plus milk and water. Parents and children are encouraged to provide feedback on seasonal menu changes.
